About Rural Health Corporation
Rural Health Corporation (RHC) is a 501c3 Federally Qualified Health Center providing care to the community since 1971. RHC has 9 medical centers which includes three co-located dental centers, and a homeless clinic. RHC clinical staff provide comprehensive primary and preventive medical and dental health care to residents of all income levels, with special emphasis on our target population— the indigent, the uninsured, and the underserved.
RHC’s medical and dental centers are located in identified high-need geographical areas. We provide care at the following centers (locations): Black Creek Health and Dental Centers (Nuremberg), Freeland Health and Dental Centers (Freeland), Monroe-Noxen Health and Dental Centers, Exeter Township Health Center (Falls), Shickshinny Health Center (Shickshinny), Valley Medical (Edwardsville), Hazleton Pediatrics (Hazleton), LaPorte Health Center (LaPorte), and McKinney Clinic for the Homeless (Wilkes-Barre). These medically underserved areas are economically distressed, isolated, rural communities in which low-income individuals and families live and work.
RHC’s health centers provide comprehensive medical and dental care to individuals throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Primary care services include pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric medicine; diagnostic evaluations; treatment of illness and injuries; physical examinations; health screenings and health education; immunizations and vaccinations; well-childcare; family planning; laboratory services; 24-hour emergency services; transportation services; and pharmaceutical access through the 340B program. Three dental centers located in rural areas offer complete family dentistry.
